Overview

Join York Ramblers for a very early autumn walk from Ravenscar to Hayburn Wyke with wonderful sea views along the way (subject to weather).

We leave Ravenscar by heading inland and up to Green Dike which we follow to Staintondale Moor. After crossing the Moor we walk along Brown Rigg Road, Prior Wath Road and a public footpath past Bee’s Nest Farm to join the Scarborough to Whitby Cinder Track. Following the Cinder Track SE we leave it to descend to Plane Tree Cottages and on to Hayburn Wyke. Here we join the King Charles III England Coastal Path / Cleveland Way and head northwards back Ravenscar.

Registered assistance dogs only with the prior consent of the Walk Leader as some fields are likely to contain livestock.
Parking – on Raven Hall Road at road side near public toilets.
Public Toilets – Free (t.b.c.)
Terrain – footpaths, bridleway and short sections on usually quiet minor roads. Note: some muddy sections in parts of the walk are possible following wet weather.
