Our Group is centred on Dorchester, Weymouth, and surrounding areas but our walks cover the entire county and beyond. The walks on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays range from about 5 to 12 miles, usually with a picnic lunch although we sometimes have a pub lunch, or tea after the walk. We cover the variety of coast and countryside in Dorset and provide an excellent way to explore our beautiful county in friendly company.

We also arrange an annual Group holiday in the UK or Europe as well as various social activities. We work for the community by arranging walks open to the public, by assisting with footpath clearance and by informing on policy and planning for rights of way and countryside issues in our area – campaigning when necessary.
You are very welcome to accompany us on a few of our walks before deciding whether to join Ramblers. Information on the walks is shown on the right. Just turn up or give the walk leader a ring beforehand to check the details. Most of our walks have a lunchtime picnic stop unless otherwise indicated. Similarly, walks on which dogs (in addition to registered assistance dogs) are permitted are identified. If you wish to bring a dog, please contact the Walk Leader beforehand.
