22 NOVEMBER WALKS HAVE NOW BEEN PUBLISHED
Ramblers and Walking for Health group walks are exempt from the restrictions on social gatherings, known as the ‘rule of six’ in England, from 14 September. This is an explicit exemption based on expert scientific and medical advice – which reflects the low risk, and huge health and well-being benefits that these activities bring. We are operating within a clearly defined framework, outlined in section 3.15 of the UK government guidance:
These organised group walks are categorised as ‘outdoor physical activity events’ and are exempt as we have already met the protocols, and put extra measures in place to reduce the risks of COVID-19. RA Covid Update
We are currently publishing our programme of walks electronically a month at a time. There's something for everyone with a programme of short, medium and long walks, both local and further afield. See walk details for booking registration arrangements. Numbers are limited to 20 only. Non members are welcome to try our walks.
DON'T LOSE YOUR WAY
Our public rights of way were first recorded on a Definitive Map in the 1950's. Today, nationally an estimated 10000 miles of paths remain unrecorded and we have until 2026 to record them otherwise they will be lost forever. There may be some of these paths in the parishes which Southampton Group covers (Netley Marsh, Nursling & Rownhams, Ampfield, North Baddesley, Marchwood, Hythe & Dibden, Fawley, Chilworth, Totton & Eling, Ashurst & Colbury) and if you know of any or would like information about searching for them see Ramblers Don’t Lose Your Way
