Overview

Meet at the Hermitage village hall car park from where the circular walk will start.  The route initially follows the disused Didcot Newbury Southampton railway path towards the M4. It then turns South East over Furze hill to cross the Yattendon road heading towards Wellhouse.  The walk then crosses the Marlston road towards West wood and then towards Bucklebury Alley.  It then heads North West along Fence Lane towards Grimsbury Castle from where it follows the Marlston road towards Hermitage.  The route then crosses the B4009 heading for Roebuck Wood and the hamlet of Oare, before returning to the car park.

It is likely to be very muddy underfoot.
