A brisk walk through Old Knebworth and the extensive grounds and deer park at Knebworth Hall, on through Graffidge Wood to exit onto Rusling Lane. We continue along this quiet lane to the village of St Paul’s Walden, Hitch Wood, the village of Preston, Wain Wood and on to Old Hitchin, with its historic market place. The woods on this walk are known for their bluebells.
Lunch: at St Paul’s Walden; Please bring picnic - pub for drinks/loos only. There are several benches in the Churchyard.
Train/transport details: London King’s Cross 9:57; Finsbury Park 10:03; (Great Northern train to Letchworth Garden City). Buy return to Hitchin.
