Starting out from Nuffield church (the last resting place of William Morris) on this undulating walk we head out to Ipsden Heath then onto Stoke Row for a visit to the Maharajah Well (this was built with funds from an Indian noble who had heard of the lack of clean water available to the poor of the Chilterns from his friend who was commissioner of Benares). After a short stop for coffee/tea we travel through Bush Wood to Witheridge Hill and Highmoor, through woods and fields to Nettlebed where we get chance to see the old Kiln before heading up Windmill Hill to Magpies and through Copse Wood, where we should see an array of Bluebells if we are lucky. Following Digberry Lane we join the Chiltern Way and the Ridgeway to take us back to Nuffield over the golf course .
The walk is mainly in the open so please dress appropriately for the weather on the day. May be muddy in places but we shouldn't be bothered by standing water
Please bring food and drink for the day. There will be an opportunity for cake and a drink at The Maker Space about half a mile from the end of the walk.
There is no limit on the number of walkers and no need to book on line but bear in mind the car park at the church is not large so car share if possible.
