This is a repeat of the event on 18th July which is now fully booked.
This will be a guided walk looking into the history and heritage of the growing village of Narborough. A village that many of us have walked or driven through but have probably never taken the time to explore. From its pre-Roman roots through to the modern day, Narborough has weathered and adapted to the changing times. Its architectural heritage includes an Elizabethan Manor House, a church which can be traced back to the 13th century and a modern living-green-roofed Parish Centre. It is an important communication centre and has served diverse industries including farming, quarrying, frame-knitting and finance. This is a chance to look beyond its busy modern facade and find cruck-framed cottages, suggestions of a bell-foundry, and hear tales of murder and benevolence. This leisurely stroll takes around two hours and will be along village pavements and roads and, for safety reasons, numbers are restricted, so early booking is advised.
