For this weekend away, we will be staying at the very comfortable and well-appointed Quarnford Lodge (self-catering accommodation).
The weekend is open to Ramblers members only, and must be booked in advance. The trip will cost £152 per person, payable in full at the time of booking – please see below for more details. This covers Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
🏨 Accommodation
Quarnford Lodge is a large self-catering house out in the hills near Buxton. Most rooms are double/twin with an en-suite shower room, a couple of rooms have bunk beds. It looks well kitted out and very classy, with two lounges and a large dining room, and includes a pool table and outside there's a table tennis table and mini golf.
Sorry, but dogs are not permitted on our weekends away.
🥾 Walks
Walks will be determined nearer the time, but are likely to include:
- Alstonefield, Thor's Cave, Ilam Park and Dove Dale
- The Roaches and Lud's Church
- The main walk will be at least 12 miles and at the harder end of "moderate"
- Other walks or activities may be arranged for Friday afternoon or Monday, depending on interest
🍝 Food
The accommodation is self-catering, so you will need to arrange your own breakfast and lunch.
We will head to a nearby pub for food on one night (optional, you don't have to if you don't want to!), and on other nights there may be options for communal cooking – we'll discuss this nearer the time.
📨 Booking
You must be a Ramblers member to book onto this trip, and places are available on a first-come first-served basis.
To book your place, please email stevie@getdown.org.uk, and include a photo of your membership card if you are not in the Midlife Hikers group. I will then send you details of how to pay, and your place will be confirmed once I have received your payment of £152.
If you cancel your place on the trip, we will only be able to give a refund if we are able to re-sell your place to someone else.
