Overview

The walk follows the probable route taken by William the Conqueror and his army in 1066. Starting next to the Royal Oak & Castle Inn in Pevensey, we will walk to Battle, passing through the beautiful High Weald, with its marshes, rolling hills and woodland. We pass through several picturesque villages, with old churches and country pubs. There are also a few cafe's available for quick stops en-route. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear, bring drinks, snacks and a picnic lunch. As this is a linear walk possibly involving the use of public transport, the Walk Leader will need to know of your attendance in advance. Booking will close on Saturday 9th

Well behaved dogs are welcome but will need to be on leads around livestock, and obviously the walk distance needs to be considered.
