The second day of our walk will start outside the historical Abbey in Battle, finishing in the ancient town of Rye. The route is relatively easy, with less undulating countryside. There are several places of historical interest on the route, we pass through woodland, open farmland and several pretty villages with old churches, farms, estates and windmills. Fine views throughout. Bring drinks, snacks and a picnic lunch; there may be an opportunity for a brief stop at one of the shops/cafes en-route. There are several cafes, pubs and shops available at the end of the walk. Fish & Chips in Merinos and a visit to the wonderful Waterworks for a quick beer may be tempting!
Dogs welcome but will need to be on lead around livestock.
A reminder that advance booking is required, the closing date is Saturday 9th.
Following closing date the walk start times might be adjusted to allow for public transport arrival times.
