This is a 12 mile walk from Hawkley village green. It is a strenuous walk with steep climbs, but well worth the effort for stunning views, abundance of wild garlic and other wild flowers. We walk through and up hangers, across fields, footbridges, etc. There are a number of stiles and a steep climb to Down Hanger and to the top of Shoulder Mutton Hill. We pass the Harrow Inn in Steep, lots of lovely plants for sale.
This is a picnic walk, please bring snacks, lunch and drinks, advisable to bring additional snacks and drinks.
Poles are advisable if used.
Please let me know if you are joining this walk, as we may leave early if all known walkers have arrived.
