We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We will walk from the pub to Yew Tree Hill. At this point we will turn across Olivers Battery and walk back on Port Lane. Very little traffic uses this but both the track and the lane are useful for Autumn weather as the surfaces are mostly good. We will walk across a field but this path is well maintained.
The views from Yew Hill are good. There are only one or two stiles, but please bring walking sticks if you use them as there may be some mud.
If you wish to stay for lunch, please let me know by Tuesday 4th at 6.00 including your menu choice. You can use the email link. I will be pre-ordering at the request of the pub so this should be a definite commitment please. The menu is available on the pub website see the link on this page. Those staying for lunch may use the pub car park. There is some parking on the roads at the back of the village for those not pre-ordering.
