The walk is just short of 5 miles and after walking through the village we will head west along a ridge called Chapel Avenue looking across the Dever valley.
We then head towards East Stratton, crossing the A33/M3 and skirting Micheldever woods. The return to the pub is via a tunnel under the M3 and along a path.
The walk is mostly level and happy to report that only one stile to negotiate !
The village is quite interesting with it's thatched houses (bakehouse, post office, butcher, smithy and forge) and church, which dates originally from Saxon times. Another Hampshire village with a strong association with the Baring family.
The pub dates from 1703 but is now owned by the community and yet again has a new landlord !
Places may be limited so please book using the email link and confirm that you will be saying for lunch. The venue is convenient for those going on the the AGM afterwards.
