Starting from the Hampshire Bowman pub in Dundridge (near Bishops Waltham), our day will be split into a 5.5 mile morning walk, followed by a lunch stop back at the Hampshire Bowman. After lunch, a further 3.5 mile walk is available, starting and finishing again from the Hampshire Bowman pub.
Both walks feature rolling downland landscapes, with wide open views, beech woodlands, stretches of wood anemones and bluebells in flower, and wild garlic leaves in profusion (bring a plastic bag for foraging!)
We will meet at 10 to pre-order lunch and use the pub facilities, ready for a 10.15 start, aiming to be back for lunch at 1pm. The pub also stocks an impressive cellar of local real ales, and has a large garden. See lunch menu in the photos.
There are a number of low to moderate stiles to cross, mainly on the morning walk. Some muddy stretches are still around, but mainly on the afternoon walk.
Dogs welcome, but must be kept on short leads near horses please.
Please let the walk leader know if you plan to order lunch at the pub
