This is a circular walk which starts in the beautiful village of Itchen Abbas, and crosses open fields and woodland to Magdalen Hill Down, where the views are magnificent on a clear day.
The route then works its way into the fringes of historic Winchester, before returning to Itchen Abbas, via the edge of Winnall Moors Nature Reserve and then through the Worthy Villages, following the glorious River Itchen.
The walk is relatively flat, although there is a steep, yet comfortable descent into Winchester.
A coffee stop and lunch stop are built into the itinerary.
The meeting point is outside St. John's Parish Church. Cars can be parked outside, or in the car park adjacent to the Village Hall.
