Overview

Note revised start time of 11.00 (to better match the schedule of the Ellemford Show)

A leisurely circular walk following the River Whiteadder upstream from Abbey St Bathans to Ellemford Bridge.  The outbound route follows a farm track, and then on to open fields which may be overgrown in places.  From Greenhope Cottage we follow a quiet access road down to the bridge. After Ellemford we follow the SUW on a quiet forestry track back to Abbey St Bathans, where refreshments are available at the Woodlands Café.

This walk coincides with the annual Ellemford & District Show where there will be the opportunity to browse the exhibits.

Any livestock we see will be in fenced fields.

There will be a lunch stop at Ellemford and two drinks stops.
