This is a walk of extraordinary variety , showing may of the different aspects of the Surrey countryside between Dorking and Guildford. There are a number of stiles and some nettles. There may be some mud following the recent rain.
There are a number of points of interest along the way including St John's Church, Wotton, which has Saxon origins, a memorial to Bishop Samuel Wilberforce, the knotty Witches Broom Tree, and a massive old beech. After a little climbing we return via the beauty spot of Friday Street.
Please bring coffee, snacks and a picnic lunch. After recent rain you will need something waterproof to sit on. There is a pub, the Wotton Hatch at the end of the walk and we will be near the Royal Oak in Holmbury St Mary at lunchtime, but I am not planning to make that a stop. . There are few other facilities along the way
