We will set off from Cowleaze Wood Car park promptly at 10.00am at fairly brisk pace but stopping briefly to admire the view, walking through the Aston Rowant nature reserve enjoying spectacular views and down to the Hill Road footpath. We will rendezvous with the group starting from Lewknor at 10.45am at the intersection of the Hill Road footpath and the B4009 (where there are several parking laybys) and resume our walk from there, taking the Hill Road bridleway to Lewknor, turning right at the Leathern Bottle, through through St. Margaret’s Churchyard in Lewknor and well kept garden and field footpaths, over a bridge with new gates, no stiles and along to the quiet Weston Road. At South Weston we take a footpath to tranquil fields following a small river, escaping the hum of the M40. We will see some interesting historical buildings at Park Farm, next to Wheatfield Park before reaching a small road which takes us to Adwell House.

Adwell Vintage Vehicle Show is a great day out with a splendid display of cars, motorcycles and bicycles and more.

Vintage Vehicles: Admire the dazzling collection of classic cars, motorbikes, bicycles, tractors, caravans and commercials displayed around the peaceful lakes in the stunning parkland.

Explore the Beautiful Gardens: Wander through the sweeping gardens, open only three times a year, and enjoy a perfect blend of nature and nostalgia.

Boutique Shopping: NEW FOR 2025! Explore the Humble Country Shopping Marquee featuring over 20 fabulous local boutique brands selling vintage homewares, gifts and accessories.

Live Entertainment: Listen to the Watlington Concert Band , The Bicester Heritage Saxologists our Sax quartet and ‘The Band With No Name‘ playing throughout the day.

Dog show:  Run in two rings in the parkland, the Adwell Dog Show is not to be missed – 10 classes this year!

Family Activities: Tank and vehicle rides from SWB in the parkland, and traditional fairground attractions.

Local Food and Drinks: Bar and Pimms tent, and an array of wonderful local food stalls.

With so much to see, do, and experience, the Adwell Vintage Vehicle Show promises to be a fantastic, fun-filled day out for visitors of all ages.

The beautiful grounds of Adwell House, Adwell, Oxfordshire, is a Grade II* listed manor house and the family seat of the Birch Reynardson family rebuilt in the C18th on the site of a C17th one. The garden has ponds and unusual plants. The Church Adwell St. Mary, next-door is worth a look too.

We will re-group at 3.30pm to walk back to Lewknor by the very pleasant route in reverse with some variations, at moderate pace. We will then continue in our smaller group as follows:

Our route back at a fairly brisk pace from Lewknor to Cowleaze Wood. We’ll pause briefly to observe the spectacle of scores of Red Kites both in the air and settled in trees at their favourite location along the Hill Road bridleway. We will turn South when we reach the Ridgeway Path, away from the M40 around Bald Hill and woodland, which ends with a hill climb at the end, back to Cowleaze Wood, (after a walk which is mainly quite level except for the descent from the nature reserve near the beginning).

Well behaved dogs are allowed but must have a lead for nature reserve and Adwell House grounds.
