Take the train that leaves from Highbury & Islington at 08:54 and from Finsbury Park at 09:00, arriving at Alexandra Palace at 09:08.
We'll walk through Alexandra Park, then Highgate Woods and then along the Parkland Walk, where we'll have our banana break at the Crouch End Hill Bridge, where there is a cafe. We'll then proceed to and through Finsbury Park, then follow the New River Path past the Woodberry Down Reservoirs. A short walk down Green Lanes will take us into Clissold Park, where picknickers will picnic and pub-goers will lunch at the Rose & Crown. After lunch, we'll walk along Stoke Newington Church Street, through Abney Park Cemetery and to Springfield Park. Depending on time and conditions, we will then either walk straight up the River Lea to Tottenham Hale station, or go via Hackney Marshes and Walthamstow Wetlands.
The bulk of the walk (around 7.3 miles) is in the morning.
Lots of possible drop-out points - Highgate, Finsbury Park and Stoke Newington, as well as buses in between.
