The route of this walk has been changed from that originally published. This means the steep hills at the start of the walk are now avoided and it is slightly longer – 9.5 miles (as opposed to 8.7 miles). The start point, pub etc are still the same. The new details are:
Park in Station Road near to Shoreham rail station or in station car park where we meet. The walk goes through the pretty Shoreham village streets and climbs gradually skirting Castle Farm to Shacklands Road and follows the Samuel Palmer Trail through bluebell woods which are in flower now. Continue to Lullingstone Park's woods following the edge of their golf course. The walk gradually descends with good views to Eynsford. There are two stiles to cross the railway line. Lunch is in The Malt Shovel or picnic nearby. We return via the flat Darent Valley Path to the start. Trains run half hourly between Eynsford and Shoreham if you need to shorten walk. Some road walking. EX147/162
