We will travel to Brodick from Ardrossan using the 7am ferry which arrives at Brodick at approximately 8am. We will then take the North Arran bus to Thundergay which takes approximately 45 minutes. So we can start our walk around 9am.
We climb uphill following the burn on a good path all the way to the beautiful Coire Fhion Lochan. We turn steeply uphill onto Meall Biorach . The route takes us up over 4 tops, the highest point being 721metres, all giving magnificent views over the back of Goat Fell and the Arran hills. The final climb brings us on to Beinn Bharrain 716 metres. From there it is downhill all the way to Pirnmill over steep grassy slopes and a track from the small hydro dam leading downwards. We then cross some fields to the road, where we will catch the bus at 3pm.
This is a strenuous A walk which requires poles and gaiters if its wet. There is a time restriction on this walk due to the fact that we have to catch the 3pm bus.
Also please contact the walk leader if you wish to go on the walk.
