Walk cancelled due to the forecast of very heavy rain and the resulting risk of slips
We are the Mid Sussex Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A brisk morning walk on the Forest with a couple of hills. We will head to Friends Clump and then onto Gills Lap and Chuck Hatch. The return route passes the Greenwood Gate Clump before going on to Camp Hill. Great views if it should be fine.
Update 10/1/26: With all the recent rain there are many patches of wet mud, particularly in areas where they have been working, and we will definitely get muddy!
Please note the earlier than usual start time of 9:30am and that there will be a prompt start.
You will probably want to bring a snack and/or a hot drink for the short break.

Hollies car park, off the road between Nutley and Duddeswell. Ashdown Forest car park charges apply, £4 for four hours, and you need to install one of the possible parking apps before setting out or may want to pay in advance to avoid any connectivity problems,
