Overview

The walk begins at small harbour at Ballantrae, where toilet facilities are available.   Pleasant walking along the beach till we reach Bennane Head.   We will take the shore path (old A77) around Bennane Head, past Snibs cave.   This hermits cave is worth exploring.   This is the only section with a short elevation, but nothing too demanding.   This route prevents vergeside walking for a good bit along the busy road.    It is also more pleasant walking next to the sea.    The walk goes through Bennane Head caravan park and then heads down to the beach again where we continue back to the cars at the Varyag monument at Lendalfoot.   This is a short pleasant section of ACP, allowing time for coffee and cake or fish and chips at Girvan on way home.
