Starting at the National Trust car park we walk up The Batch valley and up on to Plush Hill. From there it is fairly gentle walking along the Long Mynd plateau to Pole Bank. We then descend via Town Brook valley and across to Carding Mill (toilets available). From there we skirt Bodbury Hill and head up and across the golf course before descending back to the Batch.
NB This is a longish walk (9 miles) with a lot of height to climb (nearly 1700ft) but will be taken at a steady pace. It is mostly on good paths and tracks, although there are a couple of short narrow and/or steep rocky sections in Town Batch. The walk can be shortened in the case of bad weather
Parking is in the small National Trust car park in the Batch Valley accessed from All Stretton- bring your membership cards if you have them for the machine. If the lower car park area is full there is another area further up the track opposite the youth hostel. We will walk up to you there (wave when you drive past). I will do the briefing from the top car park. Please car share if possible as, even with both areas, there aren't alot of spaces.
There isn't much cover during the walk but there will be a toilet (and ice cream?) stop at the cafe in Carding Mill Valley about one hour before the end of the walk.
Please contact the walk leader by TEXT or WhatsApp (and include your name) and let me know if you are going straight there or to the P&R. vtc £2
