This is a circular walk from Clowne via Oxcroft, Elmton (elevenses), Creswell Model Village, Creswell Crags (lunch) and Whitwell.
The walk is mainly on even surfaces across fields, countryside tracks and lanes. There is a section of rougher woodland path after lunch and a short pavement walk through Clowne village at the end.
There are a few inclines after lunch, but the majority of the walk is gently undulating. There are only a few stiles, not at all complex in design, and all in good condition on recce.
No dogs please, as there may be livestock in fields.
Take the 53 bus at 8:30 from Sheffield Interchange to arrive at The Angel Inn, Clowne at 9:15.
The walk starts at 9:25 from the nearby Go! Active Leisure Centre on High Street. (toilets available).
Return bus (53) at 16:35 from Clowne, outside Tesco, arriving Sheffield Interchange 17:25.
There is some on-street parking around Clowne.
Break off point after lunch (approximately 8 miles).Take the train at Creswell Station for return train to Sheffield via Worksop. Suitable traions at 14.22 and 15.19
