The walk begins from the Ben Ledi car park via a signposted path through a forest track. This walk is steep from the onset and will be taken at a sensible pace, with short breaks when required. Once we leave the forest behind good views of Loch Lubnaig and surrounding hills appear. The path continues steeply up till the ridge is gained, becoming rocky in places over several false summits before reaching the summit cairn with memorial cross. The trig point is slightly further on. The descent will be made via the beautiful Stank Glen, initally on steep grassy slopes then onto gravel path down to the burn. There are several fords which are easily crossed via stepping stones. The path can be boggy in places. We re-enter the forest past waterfalls with viewing platforms and continue back to the cars.
This a a grade A strenuous walk and will be taken at a sensible pace to meet the needs of all walkers. Boots, gaiters and poles are recommended due to boggy and rocky, uneven ground. We will have several breaks as required throughout this walk. There are several fords which are easily crossed with stepping stones.
