This walk is made up of 3 circular walks, The first part takes us to Doggartland on a mixture of woodland trails and quiet country roads, some of this section can be muddy in parts but should give us lovely views over the surrounding farmland. Then we head to the picturesque Lynn Glen, a wooded glen featuring dramatic waterfalls and native trees. We pass another Peden's Pulpit and a wooden bench commemorating Bessie Dunlop ; who was a natural healer and prosecuted as a witch, strangled and burned at Edinburgh Castle in 1576 . The path here is much drier, there will be some stairs to climb but nothing too challenging. To round of our tour of Dalry we cross to the other side of the town, first along Lynn Holms and then on pavement towards Blair Estate where we can wander through tree lined avenues, over little bridges past the Blair Castle, Walled garden and garden cottage. We then return back along the road to our car
The first part of the walk can be muddy and wet so sturdy waterproof boots and gaiters are recommended. Walking poles are optional.
It is possible to join this walk by public transport from Dalry railway station
We will park our cars in the Town centre carpark behind St Margaret's church. KA24 5DH
