We are the Richmond Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This walk is moderate, up a steep hill and along the edge of the Benfleet Downs with some good views. We pass Hadleigh Country Park and Belton Hills before arriving at Leigh-on-Sea Station where we will meet up with the walkers who would like to do just the following shorter walk.
Update on Saturday 15th November Walk to Southend.
C2C have engineering works on Saturday between Leigh on sea and Southend which only affects the return journey. Some train times has changed though and a route.
Benfleet to Leigh on sea.
The train now leaves West Ham 09.42hrs arr 10.19 hrs
The route has changed we will now be walking the Kings Charles 111 Coastal walk. With a different terrain and landscape.
The route is open to the weather elements - no shelter.
Leigh on sea to Southend.

Please consider eating picnic on the train. As this section may become drinks stop only, as a result of the predicted weather.
