Please join us for a late autumn linear walk through the beautiful Lee Valley, Epping Forest and Roding Valley with great views. From Enfield Lock near the former home of the Lee-Enfield rifle we cross the Lee Valley and pass the George V reservoir. Then we have a few steep climbs into the Sewardstone Hills, including a steep ascent up to Hawk Wood.
The lunch stop is at Chingford for a picnic. Drinks and light snacks are available from the Butler Retreat Cafe. The nearby Epping Forest Visitors Centre has toilets. You can also see the historic Queen Elizabeth I Hunting lodge.
In the afternoon we go through more forest meadows and the Roding Valley nature reserve.
This walk covers sections 18 & 19 of the London Loop.
This is a joint walk with The HFW group.
There are no toilets at Enfield Lock station, but there are toilets on the train.
