The walk takes us through pine woods, heath and open crop fields. There is some road walking but underfoot it is dry. There are no stiles and no mud. It is very pleasant and quiet apart from birdsong. The terrain is fairly level with a couple of gentle inclines. Boots essential and poles suggested.
There is a smallish car park at Binton Wood which depending on other users should fit 16 cars tightly packed. There is no easy on-road parking beyond that, so bring a small car or car share. Good local lunch refreshments available at Manor Farm Tea Shop (very popular) at the end of the walk or a pub further afield.
