Starting and ending at Glossop Station, we'll ascend up to Higher Shelf Stones, the third highest Ethel in the Peak District and a trig point. From there, we walk to Hern Stones, Wain Stones and Bleaklow Head, the second highest Ethel in the Peak District. We will return via the Pennine Way and Doctor's Gate. The views will be stunning: moody moorland, romantic stones, and far away vistas.

All the way we stick to paths, but at times these are steep and rocky. Sometimes, we may need to go through an inch or two of water in streams. There should be no need for us to wade through the black stuff, but gaiters are advised. Boots are essential, along with waterproofs, hats/gloves, warm clothing, head torch (just in case), and plenty of food/snacks and drink.
