This scenic circular walk begins at Bledlow Ridge, heading first into Yoesden Nature Reserve, a steep chalk grassland valley known for its carpet of wildflowers and orchids, and rare butterflies. The route continues along footpaths and bridleways through a mix of fields and woodland, passing through Radnage and Crowell Woods towards Chinnor Hill — another nature reserve and area of mature woodland offering far-reaching views across Oxfordshire.
From Chinnor Hill, the path turns north across wheat and linseed fields towards Lodge Hill, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views over North Buckinghamshire, before looping back to Bledlow Ridge.
The walk features a rich variety of terrain — woodland trails, farm tracks, and open downland paths — offering plenty of visual interest and moments of beauty and wonder. It is moderately challenging, with several climbs and descents, and includes a couple of stiles.
Sturdy footwear and hiking poles are recommended, especially in uneven sections. Please bring a picnic lunch and plenty of water — especially on warmer days.
