Overview

A brisk walk into Oxfordshire's countryside and the extensive grounds of Blenheim palace with views of its lake and the Column of Victory. Once out of the Park, the route is along Akeman Street, the Old Roman road from Alchester to Cirencester, now part of the Oxfordshire Way, through the villages of Stonesfield, Finstock and finally Charlbury.

Lunch: picnic in the meadow by the Stonesfield Ford.

Train: Paddington 08:50; Reading 09:20; (Great Malvern train). Buy return to Charlbury. Please make use of the facilities on the train as there is nothing at Hanborough.
