At the start of this lovely and enjoyable walk we go through Coworth Park, with its polo playing fields, to enter the 4,800 acres of Windsor Great Park. We pass near Virginia Water (a lake), Valley Gardens (which overlooks it), Windsor Great Park (a forest and deer park), and the Long Walk to Windsor Castle. At Windsor there is an opportunity to explore its oldest streets and the many inns, cafes and restaurants.
Train: London Waterloo 09:50; Clapham Junction 09:58; arrive Sunningdale 10:38.
Lunch: Bring a picnic or there is a cafe at the Savill Garden Restaurant in Windsor Great Park. However, can be busy.
Toilet: Use toilets on train; limited facilities until lunch.
