A circular walk of 12.5 miles of downland. Starting at the village of Blewbury the route proceeds south to East Ilsley before turning west to West Ilsley, returning north to Blewbury.
The ground surface is mostly farm tracks, extensively walked footpaths and field tracks. The conditions should therefore be favourable with no extensive muddy areas or streams to navigate. Should the weather remain clement there is the opportunity for panoramic views across both West Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
Whilst the walk is 12.5 miles in length and 1,00ft of ascent / descent, there are no notable obstacles and hinderances worthy of mention. There are short lengths of public road involved.
NB: late note - there is currently a weather warning for 'hot weather' in place - please ensure you bring sun protection and plenty of fluids.
Please bring food and drink for the day.
The walk is limited to 16, so please book online.
