Overview

From Wantage, we use good paths out to Letcombe Regis, then follow the track up to the iron age hill fort at Segsbury Castle. Here, we use a small part of the Ridgeway before we descend to Letcombe Bassett, to follow the brook to Blandys Farm, then over to Childrey, using fields and lanes to reach the disused Wilts and Berks canal, which we follow to East Challow. Then using the Vale Way back into Wantage and through the town, past Betjeman Millenium Park, market place and King Alfred's statue and then back to the cars.

Please dress according to the prevailing weather on the day. The walk is all in the open with very little shade.
