This is a walk of approximately 10 miles, starting from Bossingham, which takes place on a Saturday, to allow a rest day for those of us taking part in the May Day Bank Holiday Five Churches Charity walk.
This is a pleasant little circuit along woodland tracks, and open countryside, with some uphill stretches, as well as visiting a famous pub set neatly in the valley.
Starting at a later than usual time of 10am, we leave Bossingham to head up a track to the right of Upper Hardres Wood, then across fields towards Stone Street. We cross the road to head over to Petham, before returning back to again cross Stone Street, and over to Pett Bottom, where the Duck Inn, famous for its James Bond connections awaits for a pit stop.
Our circuit heads uphill to pass through a delightful stretch of woodland, shown on the OS map as Gorsley Wood, then later through Atchester Wood.
There will be our usual short picnic stop, as well as the above mentioned pub stop.
Dogs welcome, but on a short lead when required.
