Overview

The walk features 2 churches including the oldest in the New Forest and a nature reserve. The lunch stop at the oldest church will probably allow us to see the relatively new stained glass window in honour of the New Zealand troops who died in the local hospital as a result of injuries sustained in World War I. We will also have a short coffee stop on the green near the pub.

No booking required.

Map OL22.

Please bring refreshments and lunch for 2 breaks en route.

Assistance dogs only please.

Please bring your ICE card (In Case of Emergency) with you or ask me for one.

Please note that this is a change to the original walk planned which I deemed to be too wet in places. Hopefully I will re-plan it for later in the year.

The meeting point is in the station car park just past the train tracks. Car parking is chargeable at £4-30 for all day payable by cash, card or RingGo (code 2016). If paying by cash or card there is a machine near the station entrance. There is a small convenience fee for paying by Ringo. There may be some free roadside parking available nearby and there is of course the option to go green for the day and let the train take the strain.
