Overview

A slightly shorter than usual weekend walk with the option to go car free. Leaving Brockenhurst  station we head towards St Nicholas Church, the oldest in the New Forest. The church has a thousand year old yew tree and war graves for the WWI New Zealand soldiers. 21,000 soldiers were treated in the nearby hospital having been relocated from France via Southampton port and the train to Brockenhurst; hopefully we will be able to see tbe 2016 memorial stained glass window in the church. We now route through Roydon Woods Nature Reserve and cross Boldre Bridge en route to our second church at Boldre where we should be able to see a waterfall of poppies decorating the church. Our return  will take us over the Lymington River by footbridge with views of Roydon Manor before re-joining our outward path back to tbe station.

No booking required.
