From the car park we follow the Calderglen-Langlands trail and walk through the woods above and beside the Calder Water. We will stop for coffee beside the water before heading out of the park to Langlands Moss. We will walk across the raised bog on a refurbished walkway (this was closed when we did this walk in 2019), and walk back to the park via woods and past Langlands Golf Club. Once back in the park we retrace our steps and stop for lunch before the south bridge, where we cross to the other side of the river and walk back to the car park via the Horseshoe falls.
The woods in the park are lovely at this time of year with autumnal colours in abundance on the ground.
This is a C grade walk, but there are some ascents and descents, and some of the wooden bridges and walkways are slippery underfoot so good boots are recommended. If you use poles, best to bring them along.
As a group Cunninghame Ramblers have a TWO stop policy with the first stop usually about an hour into the walk. On this walk we will stop for coffee beside the Calder Water with a view of the water, before heading out of the park to Langlands Moss. The next part of the walk is across the raised bog on a refurbished walkway, which will be new to most group members.
