We are the Inverness Young Walkers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Join us for an evening walk along the canal! Getting out in the evenings in the dark and after work can be difficult, and doing so together is great!
We will start outside Jammy Piece and walk along the canal to the leisure centre, cross over, walk back all the way to Dochgarroch, and then come back on the other side to finish at Jammy Piece again.
The walk will be in the dark and is only partly lit up, so head- or hand held torches are a good idea. The walk is virtually flat and along good paths (some dirt, some paved). The walk is accessible by wheelchairs and pushchairs and will be a good opportunity to come and meet the group if you're new!
Under 18s who can walk 5km at a leisurely pace are welcome with a responsible adult (18+). Dogs kept on short leads are welcome too.
Bus number 3 stops a short distance from Jammy Piece (outside the Coop). As the walk is in Inverness car sharing won't be organised as such however if you need transport please let me know and I can see if someone else will be passing from your direction.
Meeting point is outside the Jammy Piece cafe.
