A leisurely flat walk at the start along an old railway line which passes the remains of a Roman Fort. At Callendar there is a steep, continuous ascent through a wood until a trig point is reached at the top of Cnoc Dubh, and this is followed by a short, but quite steep, descent to a small road. We cross the Keltie Water, walk through a forest and continue down the east side of Brackland Glen until we reach, and cross, the new Bridge of Brackland. After this the route continues through another forest in the direction of Keltie Bridge, where we join the old railway line back to Callendar and eventually to Bochastle Car Park.
Car parking at Bochastle car park. No charge for car park.
Public toilets are available on the return walk through Callendar
