The walk starts at Canary Wharf Jubilee Line Station (a few minutes walk from the CW DLR and Elizabeth Line stations, if you prefer them to the Jubilee Line) and we meet just outside the main exit, in Jubilee Plaza (I’ll stand next to the large 3D “Canary Wharf” sign, next to Eden Dock). There are toilets in the Jubilee Place shopping mall on the south side of the station (at same level as ticket barriers), which are usually open. Please use them before joining the walk. More toilets should be available, in Greenwich and at the finish.
My planned route goes from CW station to the Thames and then along the river to Greenwich foot tunnel. Once in Greenwich we'll walk east along the river to the Thames Barrier and on to Woolwich. There are many interesting sights, along the way, and I’ll share some information about the ones I know.
Lunch (30 minutes) will be taken somewhere in Greenwich or along the Thames Path, so please bring a packed lunch (I’ll aim for sometime between 12 and 1pm, for lunch).
There are numerous potential drop out points along the way, with regular bus services close to the path, and train/DLR stations not too far from the path. All within the Oyster/Freedom Pass area.
**Please note that while I think the pace of my walks fits the Ramblers' description of "Moderate" some walkers have said that they find my pace (2 to 2.5 miles per hour) a bit faster than they prefer. But please note that is the pace of my walks, so if you're looking for a slower walk, this one might not be suitable for you**
Travel:
Make your way to Canary Wharf Jubilee Line Station (a few minutes walk from the CW DLR and Elizabeth Line stations, if you prefer them to the Jubilee Line)
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
