Starting in Cardington we will head for Battle Stones on Willstone Hill. If the weather is clear there should be splendid views in most directions. From here our prime objective, the Caer Caradoc summit, is beautifully framed in the distance. More superb views should be available from the summit, weather permitting. We will return to Cardington via the Wilderness ridge line and Enchmarsh.
Walking is mostly in open country across fields and along tracks. There are a few short sections of road walking. Some steep ascents and descents are involved so walking poles are advisable. There are also a few stiles to negotiate. There may be some muddy sections!
Parking is available at Cardington village hall and also in The Royal Oak pub car park. The pub is not open during the day on Tuesdays so is freely available to park. Please note the village hall appreciates the payment of a small contribution in the collection box outside.
The walk will start from the village hall. The VTC is £1 - £2 depending where you drive from.
After the walk refreshments will be available at The Pound Inn, Leebotwood.
