Overview

A varied walk through countryside and forest and over rough moorland, including a visit to the remains of Castell Carndochan. The castle is believed to have been built by Llywelyn the Great in the 13th century, though the hill on which it stood was probably defended as far back as prehistoric times. Today’s walk follows a mixture of paths, tracks and quiet lanes with a small stretch of pathless terrain.
