Sarting from Chanctonbury Ring car park, we walk West towards Washington round the bottom of the Downs, gradually climbing until we meet the South Downs Way. Following the Way up towards Chanctonbury Ring, turn right on footpath towards North End. At a crossroads, we turn left down to New Barn Farm. Taking the footpath through the valley, passing the vineyard at Buddington Bottom. We then climb back up to rejoin the South Downs Way, returning to the car park via Wiston Bostal.

The footpath at the bottom of the hill could be rather muddy. Few stiles. We may encounter cattle and horses.
