Overview

A lovely walk from the village that was home to Jane Austen in her final years.

We start the walk near the Jane Austen House Museum and the walk takes in the quiet lanes and paths on the Hampshire Downs to the south of Chawton. The walk is fairly undulating in places.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Parking is in the public car park adjacent to Cassandra's Cup Cafe/The Greyfriar pub (care not to park in the cafe/pub car park). If there are no spaces in the car park, parking would be on Gosport Road, the road leading to Chawton House.

Start time 10.30 please endeavour to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time.

Afterwards for those interested at The Greyfriar pub.
