Enjoy our beautiful Chess Valley. After walking along the picturesque Chess heading towards Little Chalfont for half a mile or so we will come to Holloway Lane by the Dump and then cross over to head up, climbing steadily through the fields to Big Round Green. This is a copse owned by the Woodland Trust where we will stop for our halfway stop having done all our climbing uphill. We then will walk across the plateau to Dungrove Farm where we will then head downhill back into Chesham Town. After strolling through the park we will follow the Chess as a small stream to arrive at Water Meadow and then follow it towards Christchurch back to the start.
This is number one of five circular and individual walks taking in a section of the Chess Valley Walk which are on the last Thursday in the month.
The other walks starting points will be: Walk Two - Little Chalfont. Walk Three - Chenies. Walk Four - Sarratt. Walk Five - Scotts Hill in Croxley Green. Overall there will be a few stiles but none on this walk.
Lunch is at The Queen's Head which has the river on its doorstep. This olde Fullers pub has a menu which is Thai food almost exclusively (chips might be available on request). Good Quality with mild options. It has a car park just round the corner in Wey Lane: The Queen's Head, Church Street, Old Chesham HP5 1JD.
Dogs welcome NOTE we will be walking through Chesham Town Centre
