This last section starts with a 2 mile walk north from the station following Chesham vale to rejoin the Chiltern Heritage trail. A slow gentle climb takes us up to Ashley Green village, we will take a short break here as lunch will be late. Undulating field paths bring us to the remote feeling Whelpley Hill settlement where faint traces of an ancient hill fort can just be seen. We follow the Herts/Bucks county boundary through mature woodland before arriving at Ley Hill. Lunch on common (benches) and pub for drinks /toilet only. Through Tyler's Hill wood where the clay soils have been worked for 3 centuries supplying material for tile and brick making. Then undulating field paths with views across the Chess valley before the steep descent back to Chesham station to complete the Chiltern Heritage trail.
There is 1 high stile. Some paths could be muddy after rain.
