Overview

A walk in the undulating countryside just beyond the eastern end of the Elizabeth Line in Essex. We will pass by three interesting churches, two historic halls and a windmill.

Recommended train is the 10.18 from Liverpool Street calling at Stratford at 10.25am, Shenfield at  10.41am arriving Ingatestone at 10.45am. If you have a Freedom Pass you will need a ticket from the Zone 6 boundary to Ingatestone. It would also be possible to travel via the Elizabeth Line to Shenfield - a suitable train leaves Ealing Broadway at 9.11am arriving Shenfield at 10.19am. In this instance, you will just need a day return from Shenfield to Ingatestone.

Please bring a packed lunch. There will be a late morning coffee stop in Mountnessing, and there are refreshment facilities and toilets in Ingatestone at the end of the walk
